This is a large onsen hotel right next to the main attraction in Beppu. We got a room with a private onsen (actually there was an indoor and outdoor one!) which was huge and spectacular. It was pricey but cheaper than anything comparable in the US/Europe. The room was luxurious and had every little item you could think of. It was also conveniently on the ground level, so just a short stroll to the dining rooms. There was no view, but if that's important, then you lose the private onsens - we wanted the onsens. Food was delicious - we did the Teppanyaki and the Kaiseki. Breakfast was huge. The Japanese style one was a "tiffin" box filled with grilled fish etc. The western was also large though some of the items were a little unusual for breakfast (like potatoes au gratin). Delicious nonetheless. Staff spoke a lot of English and were extremely helpful.

This was easy by far one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with my family traveling. Upfront it is a beautiful location very conveniently located to visiting five of the seven “Hells”. The grounds provide a calm and relaxing environment with mountain views. The staff was exceptional and patient helping us truly enjoy this place with our young children. Our room included and in room traditional Japanese bath. We were able to launch by car to visit Kifune castle and Takasakiyama. Despite initially being told reservations would not be available for Teppanyaki the staff went above and beyond to try to find an opening and ultimately accommodated us. The food was excellent. The location is also convenient to a nearby 7-Eleven for snacks and re-supply for day outings. The check-in and checkout process works very well.

From the time we arrived we were welcomed greatly and was greeted by staff in our native language which took us by surprise. Apparently there are many staff versed in different languages to assist guests from around the world. I was impressed. The room was huge and the amenities were all there, it did not lack anything. I loved that they provided a rubber duck for the kids to play with in the private bath area. The view from our room was great - overlooking the steamy scenery of Beppu. I loved the private bath, we got an indoor and outdoor one, though the outdoor one is very dark at night since there were no lighting probably around the bath probably to protect privacy. The food served for breakfast and dinner were decent. We liked the teppanyaki dinner and the kids meals were delicious.

Beautiful property sprawling up a hill- it even has its own Noh stage. Room was large and spotless with indoor and outdoor onsen tubs, and a separate tatami room and western style bedroom. Beds were very comfortable. The common onsen was spacious with several areas, including a large outdoor onsen. There are several excellent restaurant options including kaiseki and teppanyaki. The location is next to five of the “hells” areas and there is a free shuttle service to the train station. Staff were kind and very helpful.

Everything! We had such an amazing stay our room/house was by the pond. The children could feed the koi from our private balcony. The outdoor private onsen was lush. The indoor one was also great as we could adjust the temperature to suite smaller children. The room was extremely spacious. The staff were very friendly especially to our children. The teppanyaki dinner was good. We use their free shuttle service back and forth from the station.
